The City That I love

By Ivan Pineda | Category :: Poem

The city gets so lit up at night there is no need for stars. Heaven hides her face away through the trees, houses, and lit up lights on the rejoicing streets.....
The stars are sad the cry with the moon gazing down at down town in the middle is a fountain whose glow is the envy of every glitter-bug.....
Slow are the long hours of different lights alive, people walk in and out as the say out loud, “It is just wonderful, just going’ up and down the streets admiring’ every light, shop, and even cars!”....
But as the thick black night gently fades to navy blue; then red, orange, yellow, and finally blue of the water in a lake. The sun takes over the city along with every light in it.
