Moments in Time

By Lisa Thomison | Category :: Poem

Pivotal moments, those moments in time.
Pivotal moments, they make you laugh, they make you cry.
You here the words, you get the news.. always a surprise.
Someone new will be born, or can't believe that someone's died.
Pivotal moments... What can you do? Pivotal moments, always make your heart move.
Pivotal moments, when he says "Will you say I do"?
When you here your newborn baby cry.
Standing over a coffin cause your Daddy just died.
Pivotal moments, your son's graduation day. He's made you so proud, your eyes are so bright they beam.
Or you welcome a grandchild, when your baby girl is just sixteen.
It those moments man, you know what I mean.
It's that moment when your Dr. looks at you, he says I'm sorry, there is nothing more that I can do.
Pivotal moments, they make you laugh, they make you cry.
Without them there wouldn't be much to life.
It's that feeling when that took that old school building down, to put up a new one for the town.
Or that old coffee shop that's been there for years, it's closed for good, brings a group of old men to tears.
Pivotal moments, they make you laugh, they make you cry.
Someone's born, someone's died.
It's those moments, that make life.
Sometimes they change the course of our lives.
They are the ones that stick with you and never leave your mind.
Those pivotal moments in time.
