Stolen Moments

By persian khushi | Category :: Poem

7th June 2014

Stolen moments are now haunting him
He knew Karma would one day catch up on him
For a few years they lived in absolute bliss
Then she started working late nights
And went on weekend business trips
She became suspicious of his whereabouts
Accusing him of seeing other women

He did not see this one coming
She came home late at night, reeking of cigars and expensive aftershave
He once watched a car drop her off at home
Now he knows how his ex-wife must have felt,
Sometimes she would come home so drunk, he had to carry her in from the front door
When he approached her, she would cry and ask for forgiveness
Their stolen moments his nightmare
