I cut the cord

By James Kaymore | Category :: Poem

I Cut The Cord

In the belly like an ocean crushed by its force.
Void of light and in desperate need of air.
Before my conscience divorce,
leaving life without an heir.
Lungs and nostrils full of fluid with no way out in sight
splinter of light,
a glimmer of hope,
before my faith is consumed,
searching for strength to even cope,
Or face intended doom.
I appear as a wraith.
Just a shadow a mere reflection of the man I used to be.
燜rom lights rejection, or so it seems The rejection comes from me.
The power has left my hands...
Headed towards the light, connected somehow to my sheltered past.
Still I move on.
If I knew then what I know now, I'd sing a different song.
And the pain wouldn't last.
I am a part of this sinking vessel I was to happy to board.
A ship with no captain, lost out to sea.
I head towards the light, or at least do my best to.
That light has now found me!!!
So from Darkness I Cut The Cord.
